We are excited about the biblical and simple approach to corporate worship we offer each week. We focus on two primary events – corporate worship and Harvest Kids (ages birth through 5th grade).
Worship at Harvest on Sundays is referred to as the “furnace that lights the factory of our personal worship.” Worship is a way of life. It is a mindset. It is not limited to an event. However, we gather together with other believers in a worship event unparalleled throughout the week. That event primarily consists of worship through preaching, music, giving, and fellowship.
Worship | Preaching
We emphasize the importance of God’s Word and seek to establish everything we do upon His instruction. For this reason, you’ll find biblical expository preaching at the heart of every service. Expository preaching is delving into Scripture with an emphasis on understanding what the original author intended to say to the original audience as well as revealing the heart of God so as to understand the application of those truths today in the lives of believers. When you come, prepare to be challenged and encouraged. God’s Word both provides solutions to the struggles people face in today’s difficult times as well as clear and absolute truth that should guide our worldview of life around us.
In fact, we teach that the purity found only in unfiltered scriptural truth is the answer to today’s challenges (1 Timothy 3:16-17).
Worship | Music
God has given each of His children a priestly ministry (Revelation 1:6). This means that, because of the ministry of Christ to His church, we are privileged to come freely into His presence. That God would bless us in this way is a picture of His overwhelmingly abundant grace. With this in mind, we seek to come before our Lord with worship that is as excellent as possible, in content, in music style, and in spirit. When attending Harvest, expect to worship with contemporary style as well as content (biblically and theologically rich) driven words. We sing a blend of modern worship songs with new settings for traditional hymns, all of which facilitate intentionally scriptural lyrics intended to draw worshipers to holistically give an offering that is emotionally, physically, and intellectually balanced.
Worship | Giving
The New Testament expects followers of Christ to contribute tithes and offerings to the local church. We include a time of giving in the middle of our services to remind us that such giving is to be an expression of worship from a willing and cheerful heart (cf. 2 Corinthians 9:6-8). Such an act of worship is not expected of our guests.
Worship | Fellowship
While Sunday morning often limits interactions with others to be brief, we view these interactions as opportunities for worship – a worship of Christ that moves us past surface interest in those around us to sincerely caring about the circumstances of one another’s life, looking for opportunities to pray for and stir up one good works in one another (cf. Hebrews 10:24-25).
Worship | What To Wear
At Harvest, you will find some in their Sunday best and others wearing jeans and the like. While there is something to be said for bringing your best to God on every level, we believe God looks at the heart above all else (1 Samuel 16:7). With this in mind, come as you are, have a cup of coffee and a doughnut from the Harvest Cafe, and enjoy the intentional worship and authentic fellowship you will find at Harvest Bible Chapel.
At Harvest, we believe biblical understanding is vital for everyone…including children! We have many gifted teachers who offer our children age appropriate guidance in understanding Scripture. Our groups are designed to foster a caring, safe, and fun environment for your children to learn about the Gospel, the character of God, and how such truths can impact their lives today. Classes meet during our Sunday morning worship services and are available for children ages birth through 5th grace.
