WHY DID WE SELL?
In 2014, the school that rents from us (Heritage Christian Academy) approached us with an observation that both of our ministries were growing and shared use of the facility was becoming more of a challenge – resulting in both organizations experiencing somewhat of a “glass ceiling,” potentially stalling growth for both. Our leadership recognized the validity of this observation and agreed to prayerfully proceed with valuing the property and discussing potential for a buy-out. After several months of gathering information and further discussions, an agreement regarding a plan to move forward was not achieved.
As those discussions concluded, Legacy Christian Church approached our leadership with an interest in purchasing the property. This option provided us with the opportunity to resolve our side of the tension – enabling us to acquire a new facility with ministry space what would not be shared. After prayer and much discussion, an agreed upon price was reached, and the agreement to sell our property was completed.
The entire process has not been something we have pursued on our own. However, as has often been the case in our history as a church, God’s moving has been clearly discerned. It is this leading we intend to follow. Though He has not made the future clear, nor the steps easy, we are confident this will be another opportunity to stretch us as a church and mold us into what will most glorify Him as we seek His will.
