Psalm 150 teaches that the church is to praise the Lord with instruments, including stringed instruments, percussion, and wind instruments. Further, Ephesians 5:19 teaches that we are to minister to one another with “psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” Psalms, as included in this passage, often refer to songs with instrumental accompaniment, and “making melody” literally means to pluck a stringed instrument. This is exactly what we seek to do at Harvest. We are commited to creating music that is, in accordance with scripture, beautiful…both aesthetically, because it is aurally pleasing, and spiritually, in that it is melody of the heart given unto the Lord.
Consisting of talented and commited musicians, the Harvest Praise Band provides the instrumental foundation for our weekend worship services. The band also plays a key role in special events and worship concerts throughout the year. Instruments include guitar, piano, bass, and drums as well as stringed instruments and rehearses Wednesdays at 7:30.
